I sat down w/ NKOTB’s Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, and Jon Knight before their last scheduled show at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall. We showed up at 4pm (their show was at 8pm) and there were already tons of fans lined up hoping to catch a glimpse of them heading inside…we spent about an hour setting everything up, so we could maximize the time we had with them..
As they walked up, I greeted them and Donnie immediately gave me a big hug. He was very sweet. They were sad about the Celtics losing the NBA finals a few nights before..Jon said that was the most upset he’d ever seen Donnie..Donnie admitted he’d shed a few tears…
I had never interviewed them before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I expected Donnie to be the most talkative and then Danny and Jon last. And I was wrong! They were all very happy and excited for the show…Jon was very open and talkative…they all talked about their love for the fans and twitter..Jon admitted while they were still touring he wasn’t always completely honest on his twitter feed about where he was…(shhhh)

Donnie snapping a twitpic for twitter

Donnie is a great 'blackberry' photographer, huh?
They said they were all ready for a break after the RCMH shows, because they have pretty much been performing non-stop for the last 2 years..But the group is NOT breaking up..they wouldn’t say when they’ll be performing together again, but said it will happen..they want to spend some down-time w/ family and friends. Donnie says he can never stay away from work for long..we’ll see him this fall in “Blue Bloods” on CBS…
I didn’t interview Joey and Jordan this time, but I did get to say hello.

I grabbed Jordan and Joe for a quick pic before soundcheck at RCMH
They were all just as cool and down-to-earth as any fan would hope.
I was a fan growing up and I’m still a fan today…
They were also goofing off for the camera..Click here to see more:
